Boggled and bogged down with blogging!

THIS COUPLE ROCKED their San Juan Cap engagement session!

I admit it … there just aren’t enough hours in the day for me to find time to blog, let alone Tweet and Pinterest. But, I know the social media thing is important, so I’m going to try to improve and keep ’em coming.

This session was a photographers’ dream. Or, at least this photographer! The couple — Maria Elena and Tony — was so fun, cute and happy to experiment! I brought out my mini blackboards; we wrote their Spanish sweetheart names for each other and got a darling series. But wait, there’s more. You know how much I love ‘story value’ in a photo. Props can add a lot to tell ‘your’ story. Things that are meaningful to you will bring a session to life. Maria and Tony brought along their vintage Mustang, Tony packed his guitar and a picnic basket. (I told you it was a dream!)

This was truly a case where I can’t pick favorites, so I’m loadin’ them at random.

Can hardly wait for their wedding!

Giving thanks for 2010…

As 2010 nears its end (I can’t believe it … how’d that happen?), I find myself reflecting on what an incredible year I’ve had! So many blessings … Click Chicks was added to the preferred vendor list at a half-dozen additional locations. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing consultants that’ve been on my ‘list’ for a long time:  Jill Watson, Melody Walker, Kelly Bloodworth and Holly Schoenke.  And, I photographed weddings at the three premiere hotel properties in the OC:  The St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and The Montage.

Of course, none of this would be possible without my clients … Those beautiful couples who entrust me to capture the joy and emotion of their wedding day. What a gift to be the witness to their commitment.

Thank you one and all!!!  Couples, attendants, consultants, florists, caterers, venues, dj’s, officiants, instrumentalists, vocalists, bridal salons, hair and make-up stylists. And, my favorite co-photographer, Laura. It truly takes a village to create a wedding.

I’ve shot thousands and thousands of frames, so it’s extreeeeemely difficult to select highlights, but I’ll share just a few:

Annie + Tom at The St. Regis

Lauren + Scott at The Fairmont Hotel, Newport Beach

Sharmeen + Ankur at The Mission San Juan Capistrano and Occasions at Laguna Village

Shalina + Craig at Franciscan Gardens, San Juan Capistrano

Jessica + Claes at The Ritz Carlton • Mark + Monique at the Orange County Heritage Museum • Shalina + Craig at Franciscan Gardens

And, last but not least, Christine + Brian at Franciscan Gardens. The shot of Christine and her bridesmaids at the Mission might be my favorite of the entire year!

Christine + Brian’s wedding at San Juan Capistrano’s Franciscan Gardens

Franciscan Gardens … How do I love you?  Let me count the ways.  The venue is beautiful, the management superb (that’s you, Anne!), the food divine (24 Carrots) and the surrounding environs unparalleled for photo ops.  The day couldn’t have run more smoothly and efficiently; at the helm was Cindy of Events by Melody Walker. Christine & Brian are a wonderful couple, and I loved shooting their special day!

The shot of  Christine and her bridesmaids on the Mission wall is one I’ve envisioned for months. Finally had a chance to take it; it was worth the wait!

We had only a limited time at the Mission pre-ceremony. It was hard to leave!

Some ‘guy time’. We call the first shot “Reservoir Dogs”.

The ceremony was beautiful.  No dry eyes, including the bride.  I loved Christine’s choice of colors. Soooo fresh! (Beautiful flowers by Stacy at Floral Occasions in SJC.)

But wait, there’s more!  Apres ceremony.
